Old 19th Century Artesa
Ref: A020
€ 540.00
Authentic artesa with original lid converted into a coffee table. It was used to knead the bread by lifting the lid from the top. Very well preserved and with all the typical elements of the time, such as the hinges, very different from a current hinge. We have added four solid wood legs to use as a coffee table. Ideal to put in front of the sofa in a mountain house or in a rustic style. Piece with a lot of personality and with marks and signs of use that make it a unique piece.
Treated and fully restored wood. Very natural patina with cherry hue. Note the large number of small holes, especially at the edges and on the inside. These holes are evidence of the effect of yeast and flour on the bread dough due to use over the years. They are an unmistakable sign of the authenticity of the piece.
Gea de Albarracín, Teruel, Spain at the end of the 19th century.
